Hi North Springs Baseball families,

We want every child who wants to play baseball to have the opportunity. The City of Coral Springs Parks & Recreation Department has a Youth Sports Scholarship Program designed to help eligible Coral Springs families with youth sports (and camp) costs.

What this program is (intent)

• The scholarship program is funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) with $50,000 allocated annually (split between youth sports and camps).

• The goal is to serve as many eligible children as possible by distributing the funds equitably across approved sports programs throughout the year.

Who may be eligible

• Coral Springs residents only (must have a valid Coral Springs address).

• Families must show financial need, and the City uses HUD income guidelines to determine eligibility.

How awards work (important notes)

• Scholarships are NOT first-come, first-served.

• Funds are distributed evenly across approved applicants, with a maximum of up to $200 per child (the amount may adjust depending on the number of approved participants and available funds).

• The City plans to award scholarships at least twice per year (targeting November and May, though timing may change).

• The City sends scholarship funds to the league, and the league distributes/applies the approved amount to the scholarship recipients.

How to apply

1. Complete the application (all fields required).

2. Attach all required documentation (missing documents can result in disqualification). The application lists items such as:

   • Valid driver’s license (proof of residency)

   • Proof of residency for each child (ex: school registration)

   • Recent utility bill and/or rental/mortgage statement

   • If applicable: proof of SNAP eligibility (via https://myaccess.myflfamilies.com/) and/or proof of Medicare/Medicaid benefits

   • Signed income certification form

3. Submit the full packet to North Springs Little League — per the City’s process, families submit to the league, and the league submits all packets together to Coral Springs Parks & Recreation.
